Meet Our Team

Naomi DeMartini

Born on Whidbey Island, Naomi DeMartini is proof that you can come home again. Naomi’s journey early in life took her from Whidbey to Seattle, all the way to Boise, Idaho and back.


A wife and mother of two daughters and a son, Naomi calls Freeland home. In her downtime she loves to volunteer, hike, and enjoys baking. This alone is enough to fill every day, but she is also a key business leader in our community. 


 Naomi’s approach to business comes from her deep-rooted calling to serve the better good. A graduate from Western Washington University with a degree in human services, her plans were far from the insurance world.  “My plan initially was to start a nonprofit for teen mom respite care.” Naomi’s own unorthodox start played a large part in her desire to help others. As a single mother juggling full-time employment and a full college course load, a strong work ethic and dedication was instilled early on that continues to fuel her passion to help others today. 

When asked if she had any advice for those who have always wanted to branch out but were hesitant, Naomi said “I never imagined being a business owner. It doesn’t matter where you started in life, it matters where you finish. It’s hard to start over, or step outside what feels safe, but when you look back, the hardest decisions are often the most rewarding. You must be willing to persevere, take risks, and believe in yourself. Don’t be afraid to take that chance, it will change your life, and the lives of others”.


That life changing moment happened for her in 2014. With encouragement from a friend, Naomi had a meeting with Jim Johnson about creating a partnership and ownership transition plan for the agency that led to her assuming ownership in 2019. In the five years of tutelage, she realized that not only was it a great opportunity for herself, but that she was in a position to serve her community, help clients, and fulfill her passion to improve the lives of others every day.


Naomi and her staff are independent local agents that wield the might in the insurance world that rivals corporate giants. With a steadfast dedication and focus on community, she strives to strip away the stress and anxiety that comes with navigating the insurance waters. From helping decide which Medicare package is best, to serving as a guide for small business owners looking to provide healthcare to their employees, Naomi looks at herself and her staff as a bridge to help guide her clients through different phases of their lives. “Insurance should no longer be viewed as a just-in-case service. Everything now is so interconnected - from which packages exist, to which tax credits you may qualify for - your services need care and attention in an ever-changing world, and that’s what we provide.”


A field where she sees the greatest need for awareness is in succession planning. “All too often business owners settle for less than their business is worth, because there isn’t enough support and planning readily available. We guide our clients through structuring, financing, and development of a clear succession plan for their business.” Naomi has a keen eye and expansive knowledge to make sure our clients get the plans that best fit their lives.


Naomi has built a stellar reputation not only as an agent and advisor but an active supporter of the local community. She serves on the Board for our Freeland Chamber of Commerce and supports many local non-profit businesses. During her off time, Naomi loves spending time with her family, especially her husband and kids. Naomi’s oldest daughter is doing an amazing job selling cars at Acura of Bellevue. Her younger daughter has been kicking butt on the volleyball team and the youngest, her son, has been keeping busy this year playing soccer. With her busy work and the kids’ sports schedules, an ideal night for her is kicking back relaxing with a good movie.

Lindsey Hensrude

Lindsey made Whidbey Island her home in 2013 and can’t imagine ever leaving! She’s happy to feel the same way about working here at Johnson Insurance.


Lindsey came to her career as a life and health insurance agent after years of working with children and families at South Whidbey Elementary School. She loved working with students and learned so much about how important – and rewarding - it is to help others feel seen, heard, and supported. Lindsey brings that same passion for helping others to her work here at our office.


Outside of work, Lindsey loves spending time with her daughter, Marina. This past summer they had fun at Disneyland, seeing Taylor Swift in concert and at weekly beach nights with friends. Lindsey also loves reading, walking and road trips. Her future goals include visiting more of America’s national parks, traveling by train, and writing a book.

Kim Martin

Kim has settled into the empty nester life. She continues to find joy watching her son & daughter-in-law establish their lives in Utah. They recently purchased a brand-new home!


Kim’s little family has grown due to the addition of several members with four paws.

Two grand dogs (Parker & Goose) and one puppy of her very own, named Stella.

Stella & Kim can be found exploring many of the beautiful hiking areas on Whidbey.

Kim loves to explore……so the sporadic weekend road trips to various places in WA with Stella and Dave are always being planned.


After 19 years in their home on Whidbey, Kim and Dave have decided to start revamping the landscaping around their home. This makes Kim’s heart incredibly happy since she loves wandering in the local garden nurseries. She calls it her version of a kids candy store!


Kim continues to find her niche in the Insurance business. She really enjoys taking on

complicated issues that clients are having with their insurance. She is more than willing to call the insurance company until there is resolution to the issue. She also enjoys all aspects of customer service whether it be answering the phone and booking appointments, helping get the office ready for our busy season, and being a friendly smile when you enter the office. Last but not least - GO KRAKEN!!!!
